Hi all. I've always been a fan of Schwan's food, and I'm wondering what other folks think about it. You can order online, and they'll deliver right to your house. I haven't tried anything I haven't liked yet. Some of their stuff is kind of expensive though.
Blake:
There stuff is so good! Yay for there cherry turnovers!
I haven't found anything I don't like, either.
Greetings Frequency,
That Schwan's food that you mentioed sounds familiar
though I have not tried any that I can remember.
Searched the web and then I rember, Yes, in our area
we have this service available..
Their truck is yellow with white swan on it..
Here is a recipe I found from their web place.
Apprently you can use some of their ingrediants that can be home-delivered as well as adding your own ingrediants to go along with to make a serving more so complete like. The following pie was listed on their web and thot to pass it along here:
Butter Crunch Ice Cream Pie
All your favorite sweet treats in one delectable dessert: ice cream, cookies, and candy. Add amaretto or almond flavor for a gourmet touch. http://www.schwans.com/recipes/recipe13.aspx?tb=4
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Total time: 30 minutes + freezing
Serving size: Makes 12 servings.
Ingredients:
12 pieces SCHWAN'S® Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (#644), thawed
4 cups SCHWAN'S® Premium Butter Crunch Ice Cream (#112), softened
1/2 cup milk chocolate toffee bits
1 cup caramel topping
1 8 oz. container frozen whipped topping, slightly thawed
2 Tbsp. Amaretto or almond flavoring, optional
NOTE: If a Schwan's product is not available in your area, please feel free to make an appropriate substitution.
Steps:
Press thawed cookie dough into a 9" pie time.
Bake at 375° F. for 12-14 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.
Let cool for 5 minutes.
Press ice cream into crust; sprinkle with 1/2 of the toffee bits and pour caramel topping over toffee bits.
Freeze for 10 minutes.
In small bowl, mix whipped topping and flavoring; spread over pie.
Sprinkle with remaining toffee bits.
Freeze for 2 hours, or until firm.
Let stand 10-15 minutes at room temperature before cutting.
Freeze leftovers.
Notes
A prepared graham cracker pie crust can be substituted for cookie dough crust.

wow! Um, thanks for the unnecessary detailed search? *yawns*
Cherry turnovers are fricken awesome! That, and I love their pretzels with cheese inside!
I think more for my benefit Frequency...A file started. smile
Hey Torico, pass over some of them there Cherry Turnovers!
Blake:
Those pretzles are bomb! They have some with nacho cheese in them, too.
yes, i think that's the kind i was referring to. I haven't had any for so damn long, i think i need to get some.
I like Shwans food. Sometimes if you don't buy off of them for a few weeks in a row at least from experience they won't come back and you have to call and ask what happened to the truck.

We've been ordering from them for a few months now. So far, so good! A bit pricy, but better than spending money on fast food.
One of my fave features is the preparation and nutrition right on the website. That is brilliant! No need to ask for cooking help.
I wish you could pay online or over the phone though.
So far we've tried, lemon pepper chicken, yummy; beef bean chimiconga, nice; lemon ice loaf, frickin delicious! The turkey in the gravy, great in the slow cooker! The turkey menion was pretty gross...lol!
I want to try the oven fried chicken, lemon ice cream sandwitch, and some of the seafood.
Oh yeah, had the ordinary ice cream sandwitch...yummo!
Hi Frequency. I love Schwans stuff. Can't aford it all the time, but their crab cakes are wonderful. and their icecream is too. I didn't much like their rice dinners though. But their shrimp in garlic sauce was awesome.
I'm actually glad to get someone elses' feedback concerning this matter, because I've just gotten an acount with them, and have been having a hard time receiving the stuff I've purchased. I ordered 2 packages of Chicken Cordon Bleu several weeks ago, because one of the representatives I talked to told me I'd get a certain percent off if I ordered a second one, and the delivery time first had to be rescheduled, due to the fact that the only time the driver was going to be in my area was on a day I was going to be at work, so we had to simply make it earlier in the day.
So, I waited the majority of the day for them to show up, or at least call, and neither happened, and I've had to call multiple times concerning this issue, because they're still trying to deliver it, and I haven't heard back from anybody, and my next delivery time is again going to be during a time that I have to work. I don't mean to sound at all like I'm trying to bash their service, because that's not the case; this is just my furst time ever ordering from them, and everyone else from what I've heard has been successful in receiving their items, so this isn't making since to me.
lol It's so funny because I had friends over the other weekend and they were trying to get my fiance and I interested in Schwan's. I never heard of it before that but it seems really expensive though. I think I'd rather stick with going grocery shopping.
Michelle
We use Schwan's here pretty much exclusively as it is hard to get to grocery stores in our area and I really appreciate their high quality. I'm envious of those of you who get cherry turn-overs, would love some, yum.
I love the pot pies, the chimmichangas, the goulash, just to name a few faves. Their ice cream is wonderful, especially the chocolate malt twist.
For a while we had trouble with delivery service and had our products shipped which went quite well. They pack their food in dry ice so still frozen when it arrives. Delivery problems seem to be worked out, happy to say.
Love their stuff! I currently get food from them. Love their chicken nugits!
Troy
jag's other half here to say schwans is the bomb! i love their 40 oz mac and cheese yum supose to be 4 servings but i eat it all in one sitting yum yum yum! also their pre-cooked bacon and pork cutlets! let's see there's mini corn dogs, pizza rolls, ez fix burgers, chocolate pie, key lime pie, not to mention all the ice cream! i'm getting fatter just typing about it! i just wanna know why certain products are only available in certain areas i.e. cheese nuggets i want them so bad and they tell me i can't have them! boo hiss!
And we can't forget the mini cream puffs, can we? When we first got those we would each have a container of them to ourselves. Gradually though, we were able to start sharing a container between us, lol.
I finally got my Chicken Cordon Bleu I ordered a few weeks ago last Friday morning, and it turned out the driver that delivers in my area had been on vacation for several weeks. I asked him about those same Cherry turnovers several of you mentioned, and he told me they only had the apple one's now, which really disappointed me.
I was really looking forward to ordering myself some of those the next round. He ordered me a Braille calendar though, and the Cordon Bleu was really good (most of it got eaten in just a couple days,) and I've already ordered more of it and some Chicken parmigiana.
